Bravery

"There are so many ways to be brave in this world. Sometimes bravery involves laying down your life for something bigger than yourself, or for someone else. Sometimes it involves giving up everything you have ever known, or everyone you have ever loved, for the sake of something greater.
But sometimes it doesn't.
Sometimes it is nothing more than gritting your teeth through pain, and the work of every day, the slow walk toward a better life."
- Veronica Roth, Allegiant

The mere act of coming to counselling is an act of bravery. It is trusting someone else with the tenderest, deepest, most closely-guarded parts of ourselves and believing that by sharing our experience with someone else, we can be transformed.

Bravery is also happens when we leave the office: the hard work of living each day, of walking through pain, of clinging to hope - something that Veronica Roth captures beautifully in the above quote.

Each of us is on our own journey of growth and transformation. Courage and bravery are our companions on this path, giving us support and strength as we navigate our way through both the larger-than-life moments and the small, daily steps which carry us towards our goal.
